The brief
With an existing website built on the Squarespace platform, Specialist Glasswork came to us for a website evaluation and recommendations for SEO and other improvements. This London-based glass specialist designs and installs bespoke interiors for the likes of Harrods, Conran Design, Virgin Atlantic, QE2, Jude Law, Liam Gallagher and David Walliams, among many other high profile clients.
The solution
A website audit was carried out and a report returned to the client outlining issues identified and giving recommendations for improvements in SEO, marketing, usability, performance and security. Each recommendation was assigned a high/medium/low priority and a costing; a pick’n’mix list if you like.
The client opted to have every recommendation actioned so that his Squarespace website could be fully optimised (as far as such an ‘off the shelf’ product allows) and its content improved.
Various issues were addressed from SEO metadata and URL structure to styling inconsistencies and slow-loading image assets, and features added like ‘above the fold’ contact info and additional calls to action. The client’s numerous domain names were consolidated and set up in the optimal way for SEO, XML site maps were added and a secure SSL certificate configured – all important things in the eyes of Google.
